The prerequisite for the Canine Good Citizen Class is the Basic Obedience and Home Manners Class.

The CANINE GOOD CITIZEN CLASS is a 6 week training program that is offered 4 times per year. The session is 5 weeks of instruction with a test on the 6th week. As the training progresses, stays will be done off-leash and with the approach of people and dogs, heeling will be more precise, and many distractions will be used in training.

The class fee is $110.00. The fee includes the Canine Good Citizen test, AKC Certificate, and the testing fee to Therapy Dogs International if your dog is to be a working Therapy Dog.

The Canine Good Citizen Class is a moderately advanced class for the dog who has had previous group classes.

Our instructors like to keep the class size small to give the best in individual attention.  If your dog needs distraction training, or if you would like your dog to be able to participate in visiting hospitals, schools, or nursing facilities, then your dog will benefit from the challenge of our Canine Good Citizen Class.

The goal of this class is to teach your dog to control impulsive behaviors, and how to be a well-mannered companion under even the most distracting circumstances.

Class size is limited to give the best in individual attention. Classes fill quickly so please enroll early.

If you are enrolling in a session that begins within 5-7 days please call 721-STAY (7829) to make sure the class is not yet filled.

Enter the class date and time you have chosen on the bottom line. Payment must be mailed with your form. We have a mail-slot in our front door; enrollments can be dropped through this slot at any time.

We will call to confirm that we have received your enrollment.

If you have mailed or emailed your enrollment, but have not received a confirmation call from us, please contact the business office at 721-STAY(7829) to make sure your enrollment has not been lost in the mail.
