Our mission at Full Circle Obedience is to help dog owners build good relationships with their companions through correct structure and communication. We teach you how to train your dog to respond to the first command even when distracted! Our professional, positive and humane training methods are the key to happy dogs and happy owners.

The majority of Full Circle Obedience classes are one hour in length.

CLASS SCHEDULE

We offer the following classes:

Kinder Pup
(Foundation course)

Your puppy’s first adventures should be fun and safe providing valuable experiences. This 4 week foundation class is for puppies between the ages of 10 - 20 weeks.

Your puppy will be introduced and learn:
◼ How to walk on a leash
◼ Name recognition
◼ The beginning of impulse control
◼ In-home manners
◼ Tactile experiences
◼ You will learn the correct way on how to socialize your puppy
◼ Exercises on how to prepare your puppy for veterinary exams & grooming
◼ Solving issues like mouthing, housebreaking, nutrition, and other puppy needs

A minimum of two rounds of vaccinations are required to enroll in this class.
This is a specialty class and is offered a few times throughout the year.

Students in this class will not receive a leash.


Puppy
(Beginners)

In this 5 week course, your puppy* will learn the following:

◼ Sit & Down with hand signals
◼ Come-when-called
◼ Manners at the door
◼ Manners on leash (Loose leash walking)
◼ Sit & Down Stay
◼ Leave-It
◼ A release command when the puppy has something in their mouth that they shouldn’t have

We will also cover typical puppy issues in class such as:

◼ Play biting
◼ Jumping
◼ Chewing
◼ House breaking issues


This class is an excellent foundation for all dogs whether they will be well-behaved pets, shown in conformation, exhibited in obedience, or used for hunting or herding. Puppy Classes help prevent fearfulness, anxious behaviors, and you will learn the correct way to socialize your puppy in various environments.

A minimum of two rounds of vaccinations are required to enroll in this class

Puppy Classes are for puppies 10 weeks to 6 months of age and weigh less than 45 lbs.
*Tiny breeds that weigh less than 25 lbs may attend puppy class regardless of age.
Larger breeds that are 6 months of age or older at the time of the class should be enrolled in a First Step Class instead of puppy class.

This class will meet for 50 minutes once a week for 5 weeks


Puppy Buddy Discount

Enroll two dogs in the same Puppy Class or The First Step Class and receive a discount on the enrollment fee.


Drop-in conformation

This is a drop-in class for all levels from “never been in the ring” to those accustomed to being in the group ring. The instructor is a successful, professional handler of a variety of breeds with more than twenty years experience. Junior handlers are welcome in this class. The First Step Class
(Beginners)

This 5 week course is designed for adolescent to adult age dogs* who are in need of basic obedience skills and for their owners to learn how to implement calm, quiet manners in the home.

Does your dog drag you on your walks? Does she dash out the front door and flatten guests, or run away when you call her? Does she still bite your hands or clothes in play? We will address these issues in class!

During this 5 week course, your dog will learn the following:

◼ Sit & Down with hand signals

◼ Manners at the door
◼ Manners on leash (Loose leash walking)
◼ Sit & Down Stay
◼ Leave-It
◼ A release command when the dog has something in their mouth that they shouldn’t have

First Step Classes are for dogs 6 months of age and older.

* Tiny breeds that weigh less than 25 lbs may attend puppy class regardless of age.
This class will meet for 50 minutes once a week for 5 weeks. We require all dogs to be current on their vaccinations for this course.


The Next Step Class
(Intermediate - Advanced)

This is the next class you will take after Puppy Class or The First Step. In this 4 week session, we will add distractions and intermediate to advanced exercises to the foundation of the basic obedience you and your dog learned in the previous class. The Next Step will help prepare you for our Canine Good Citizen class or any other competitive sport that you may be interested in participating with your dog.

This class will meet for 50 minutes once a week for 4 weeks.


AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. This is a moderately advanced class for dogs who have had previous training. Dogs participating in this class are expected to already have solid basic skills such as sit, down, heel, stay, and "leave it". The AKC Canine Good Citizen class is for dogs that have completed a beginning obedience class.


Therapy Dog Training

This class is not a beginning obedience class. Therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers serve communities by visiting nursing homes, hospitals, libraries, schools, hospices, individuals and other institutions and situations where they are needed. A dog must be a minimum of one (1) year of age, healthy, and have a sound temperament. Each dog must pass a temperament evaluation for suitability to become a therapy dog, which includes the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC). There will be a certified Therapy Dog International (TDI) evaluator present for testing. To qualify as a Therapy Dog International® (TDI) Therapy Dog your dog must pass the Canine Good Citizen Test and additional TDI test requirements. Holiday Crash Course

This class is for dogs from 12 weeks of age and older and is designed to quickly teach your dog manners before the Holidays. The classes meet for a total of 8 sessions and will begin the first week of November and ending the first week of December. No aggressive dogs are allowed to participate in the Holiday Crash Course.
